Fitbit OS Simulator Release Notes
Release Notes - v0.9.4 - Mar 29th 2022
This version of the simulator replaces the old Fitbit SSL certificate and replaces it with a Google certificate. You must uninstall the previous version as old versions cannot automatically update.
Release Notes - v0.7.0 - Mar 18th 2019
This version of the Fitbit OS Simulator adds support for Fitbit Versa Lite devices.
Using the simulator can greatly increase the productivity and speed of the development process, but we recommend testing your applications and clock faces on real devices before publishing within the App Gallery, but at this time it is not possible to sideload to a Fitbit Versa Lite device.
The simulator has been designed to work with Windows 7, Windows 10, and macOS Sierra (or newer).
The simulator is available as a download for Windows or macOS.
Please note that there are currently some limitations and known issues which we will address in future updates.
Limitations
The Sensor APIs such as Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Barometer and Orientation are
present within the simulator, but will not trigger the reading
event.
Companion Life-cycle, Wake-interval and Location-change APIs are not currently implemented.
Companion Peer API currently returns bogus data, except for PeerDevice
.
User-activity data such as steps
, floors
, activeMinutes
and calories
currently return static values only.
Known Issues
All permissions are currently granted, whether requested or not.
